Was told this was a box elder maple.
Not sure if it worth anything or how to cut it . It seems to have some Birds Eye in it ?
I’ll have to sand them up and take better pictures if anyone is interested. Would like some help on selling it whole or in pieces . It’s been drying for quite a few years out in the open . I have some spalted PNW figured maple as well . I’ll post picture of that later if anyone is interested.

I’m new here and really don’t know much about wood, I “wood “ appreciate any education I can get. Thanks for the help .

I was gonna say it will sell more easily if you but it up but it seems your business acumen is greater than mine.

As it is quite large and heavy shipping won’t be too cheap. Unless it fits in a flat rate box.

It is also uncut and in log form so the buyer doesn’t know what it contains. Considering both I would price it lower than is normal for figured maple.

What's the size on the piece in the second pic? If that log was mine, I'd saw in 3" slabs then cut into bowl and spindle blanks

Looks a lot like some figured but not flamed box elder trunk I have cut up. The burls very often showed pink at the very least in what I was cutting. If it had a few areas of pale peach , I would say it also matched some willow I have cut.

Here are some measurements, forgive me if it’s confusing I can write out sizing . It’s I’ll over the place it a very weird tree . Skinny fat skinny fat etc …. The trunk was the most consistent area . It was 50ish x 21x 10 in areas 50x21x15 on the other side with a gradual tapper to the smaller side
