I have a box of random pieces left over from cutting out flute blanks. It contains in some shape or another:
Amarillo boxwood
Ash (English; olive)
Bolivian walnut
Burmese teak
Camelthorn
Chinkapin
English elm
Granadillo
Horse chestnut
Jatoba
Knobthorn
Mirabelle plum - part seasoned and cracked
Mirindiba
Nargusta
Padauk
Paldao
Pinkheart leatherwood
Primavera
Raspberry jam (small inclusion)
Rose mahogany cube
Silver fir
Spindle tree
Tamarind
Yew cube
York gum sliver

I can provide exact sizes and botanical names for any of these.
It's currently 4.5kg/10lb but I might be able to get one or two more small pieces in and keep it under 5kg.

I'm asking US$100 including shipping to the US (about $45) or the equivalent anywhere else in the world.

What blank size do you usually work with?
I collect odd timbers for research and we may work out some sort of trade. I am from Italy.

Hi Paolo,
Thanks for looking! I usually work with spindles of 25x25x300mm or thereabouts - the Burmese teak at the bottom of the photo is that size, for scale.

I get wood in all sizes, which is why I have all these random offcuts. The ones in this box are generally pen blank, knife scale or bottle stopper size and too small for me.

What size do you need for samples? If they don't need to be large I could make you a separate box, or I could cut down the larger fir and ash in this box and put more species in with smaller pieces.

The spindles go from about 3/4x3/4x11" to 1x1x5" to 1x1x12". The rose mahogany top left is about a 3" cube. There's a ruler on the nargusta near the bottom, and the box is not quite 3" deep.

Thank you. I need at least 38 by 120mm, any thickness, but I can also split a pen blank in half and glue it back together to my needed size.
I'll leave this box to someone else, but I will set aside some chunks from the odd stuff I mill. Right now I can save some

acacia melanoxylon
acacia dealbata
laurus nobilis
panopsis spp.
roupala spp
trachycarpus fortunei

Is any of these of interest to you?

@chatometry thanks for your list. I don't have cercis (siliquastrum?) or trachycarpus fortunei and both sound interesting. Steven is cutting me some Cercis canadensis.

I'll have a look around for any spare pieces at about 38 x 120mm, I'm sure I have some pieces at that size. I'll let you know and we can maybe sort out a separate trade.
