Normally don’t bother with blanks that have bug holes but this is a very nice blank otherwise so turned it and filled the holes with sanding dust and CA. Will see what the store owner has to say.

Personally, I think it adds to the look and is a neat feature. Another reminder that wood is a natural material.

May not be the look you desire for these pieces, but on a spalted and bug eaten bowl, I cleaned the bug holes, painted the cavity with black gesso then filled with sawdust/CA. When turned and sanded gave a very thin black outline that mimicked spalting.
