Very cool looking piece. The turned stretchers dont really fit the piece in my opinion, they dont really flow like the rest of the piece does.
But I do dig it:cool:

I agree with Greg about the stretchers, but I really like the rest of it. Has a Maloof-esque curve to the back.

Got a cool update on this rocker.

Today I sent pics of it to a friend with the Historical Society who also collects Caribbean furniture. He recognized the chair right away and told me the name of the joiner who made the chair in St Croix in the early 20th century.


I then found the old joiners granddaughter on line who is a member of the historical society as well and an author on local craftsmen from 19th and 20th century.

Sent her pics of the chair and she is going to send me more information on her Grandfather.
