I'm trying to figure out how this post came out like it did. I was editing another that only had links to pictures instead of the pictures that you see here.

It's about 5" OD, about 3+" tall, walls are about 1/4" thick. I've put CA over the form to make sure the bark won't cause any grief, but have caused an issue for myself as in one picture you can see horizontal lines near the top. I did remove them, but not going to take any more pictures until I get the computer to accept my pictures from the phone. Anyway, make whatever comments you want, or say nothing. ....... Nubs

Very cool effect. The light coming through is great, but also love the patterns shown on the table. It a nice looking form too.

Bean's kinda like me when doing something like that. I actually cast that bark some time ago, started turning it about 3 months ago, and then have it almost finished with the exception of removing the tenon. I think I'll wait to do that at SWAT.
I have another casting I did about 8-10 years ago. It's Palo Verde, and all I've done is make a tenon and clean up the top. I'd better do something with that.
But, just yesterday, that piece of crap Nova Neptune I bought last year decided it didn't want to stop spinning. I have to either unplug it or turn it off at the power button instead of the control button. It's a pain when I want to turn, the machine won't cooperate. .......... Nubs

Wow. Now I have to make something similar.

Maybe when I’m retired.
When I get a lathe again.

I would add an inline kill switch as an added safety. This way if you are having an electrical failure in the wiring, it only happens when you are using the machine as the flow is truly off when the in line switch is off.

Mark @Mr. Peet , I do have an inline switch built in. The problem with that is when I turn it back on I would have to wait for the system to reload. That's a pain in the butte. I tried getting on Teknatool's web site yesterday, and it wouldn't load. I'm having the same issue with about half of the sites I visit daily and had no issues until I got this new computer.

The part that is the issue is called, "Human Machine Interface Panel". It is one of those things that have a ON/OFF , FWD REV and then the screen with other functions. The FWD and three other buttons are the type of button that is smooth like the face, like those keyboards that came out a few years back that were terrible to use. If I would have seen that description before I bought it, I would have had second thoughts. Anyway, I'll actually call Teknatool Monday and see about getting another switch or find an alternative.

It's still usable as is, but like I said in the first paragraph, I have to wait a few seconds before it comes back on and then I have to adjust the speed again. And if I'm using reverse, I have to wait another 3 seconds before it starts.................. Jerry
 
Jerry - does it happen at every speed setting?

I bought the variable speed motor & controller for my Nova 1622-42 and found that if I cranked it up to top speed it would sometimes ignore my requests to slow it down or stop. I simply avoid top speed and it hasn't happened since. Maybe I'll ask them about it some day.
