Round 3. This is a very odd piece of wood. I have no idea what it is. It is nearly as heavy as stone. My wife’s father found it back in the day and thought it looked like a chicken, so he had it on display. After his passing, my wife wanted to get rid of all his trinkets, so I snagged it and cleaned it up.
Initially I thought this was some sort of fat wood, so I cut a section off the base and sniffed it. The stuff is basically as hard as ebony and had no discernible smell. I realized this cannot be shipped as is due to shipping restrictions, so I cleaned it well with a steal brush, paired it with a stone base and created one of those reverse Suiseki forms I had posted on here before. Looks rad, but it’s difficult to really get pictures that do it justice for some reason. Sealed with polyurethane. It needs to be sold as a completed art project to be shipped in this form. If you chose to cut it up, you’ll need to remove the steel thread I inserted a few inches into the base. Be forewarned, this is HEAVY. 33x20x18cm
Additionally, I took the cut off from the base and made a small pennant just to see how it looked. Dulled my angle grinder disks incredibly fast! If you want the pennant, I can include it. Asking 55$ plus shipping.
