Welcome to the Wood Barter Annual Christmas Ornament Exchange!

This is a blind exchange, where you make and send an ornament, and recipients don't know who they are getting one from until it arrives.

There's one pretty simple rule...
You make an ornament that you would be proud to display and send it to a member that you have been randomly assigned.
(The recipient takes a picture and posts it in this thread for everyone to admire.)

If you want to join the exchange, you can post in this thread and I'll form a list. In about a week I'll have everybody send me a PM with your address and I'll do a blind drawing and assign a recipient to everyone.
Remember, this is a blind exchange so don't tell anyone to who you are sending your ornament to.
Let's set the deadline for signing up to one week. Indicate your interest by October 31.

The deadline for mailing the ornament is December 7.
You can mail it when you are done, or wait until we are closer to December.

You can post pictures as soon as you get the ornament, however, If someone posts an ornament earlier in the day on the same day you receive your ornament, it is fine to wait a day or two to post. This gives everybody time to appreciate and comment on each and will help it not get lost in the discussion. If you can't post pictures when you receive it, please send a message to the sender letting them know the ornament has arrived safely.

Post your pictures and comments in this thread.

I look forward to your creativity here!!

Count me in. This is something I enjoyed doing and committing will force some shop time into the schedule.

9 people have confirmed. I'll give it another week?
This Saturday is the last day. Sunday I'll make the list in the morning after the question of the week.

A reminder, this is open to everyone, turner or not. We've had a lot of people make flatwork ornaments in the past.

Also, this isn't a contest to see who can make the best ornament, it's all about sharing with each other. Beginner or pro, flatwork or turned, I've cherished every one I've received because it came from the heart of whomever made it.

Aw, shucks, let's try it one more time... Maybe I can sneak a little more time in ony.lathe after I finish my neighbors roof project this weekend. And my other neighbors electrical project, and cut the dead pine in my Dad's dog lot before it takes out the fence. And my other neighbors metal garage . I am tempted to take a week off work to work...
