Christmas Ornament

Hey all,

I just did a large bazaar and sold a lot of these ornaments. This one I left the top unglued so that you could hide a surprise in it on the tree.

The body is made of Marblewood, the lid is Ash and Padauk, and the bottom finial and bird rest are Padauk.

I ended up leaving a slight ridge on the lid tenon. It actually snaps in place, I was amazed at the fit.

I can work on a tutorial for a bird house ornament. I just got done with a huge show. I made about 50 of these, so it may be after the Holiday's before I get to it.

Here are a couple more ornaments that lent to good homes this last weekend.

The first one is a bird house ornament with a Hemlock lid, Sassafras body, and Black Walnut finial and bird rest.



The second one is a standard ornament that has been hollowed out to keep it light. The body is Ambrosia Maple and the finials are a Rosewood.

I've found that cutting the very tip of the finial first and working to the base seems to work.
