I'll see what the final sizes are when it arrives, but I'm pretty sure the flat rate boxes are limited to 12". So hopefully they're long enough for you.

Thank you! By the way: do you have a sense of whether the smoketree is (introduced) Eurasian smoketree (Cotinus coggygria) or American smoketree (Cotinus obovatus)? If not, it's OK. You seem to be well out of the native range of American smoketree, but both species have been planted as ornamental all over the place. Anything you can tell me would be great, but if you can't be sure, that's fine. The box you've already sent looks like it'll make some amazing things once I get the wood sawn down a bit. . .
Also, when you think of it -- what county in Wisconsin were these trees harvested in? Some of the wood's going to end up in my university's collection, and when possible we like to have basic locality information.

No idea of which species - only know as much as I was told when the wood was given to me. Trees were in Kewaunee County, WI.

By the way, some of Box H ended up this way.
You can't really tell from the picture, but smokewood has some chatoyance. I was originally not a great fan of the yellow color -- as I told my bandsaw-owning friend, I wondered whether the tree had been fertilized with mustard -- but the finish deepened it to a nice gold. I like working with this wood; it cuts well and has a lot of character. Thanks again!

I still have boxes A, B, & D of the pen blanks. For $30, that's not much more than paying for shipping.
I'll leave them up until later this month. If no interest, I'll take them along on a camping trip and regretfully burn them. There's lots of great blanks in these boxes.
