This has been in my shop for many, many years in a corner I hadn't cleaned yet, it was waxed, I took the hand planer to it to show the grain.

And known as Satine as well. The red stripe in this is blood wood. Very chatouyant and very brittle. Cammed out the screws in this bottle opener with predrilling and split the edge of wood. A real pain to work with sometimes.
