Yes, a cord is typically described as 4' x 4' x 8' or 128 cubic feet. When I married into a bunch of up state New York farmers, I found that my English did not cross over word for word. Much of Central New York often assume a cord 2' x 4' x 8', however that is a face cord. They call 4' x 4' x 8' a full cord. Wood is wood, but in many states you can only legally sell it by cord units. Your choice if it is full, half, 1/5, 1/3 or whatever.
Soon many states are going to start a certificate of cleanliness, to limit transfer of, invasive insects, disease, animals and other. Most stores already require such to sell indoors. This includes heat treated. UV treatment has not been enforced here yet.
