Hello everyone, very new here but am pretty blown away by the number of folks here and how spread out everyone is (even Texas). I have an issue and feel this is the place for help: I was gifted a 10" Craftsman bandsaw (119.214000). It had a shredded belt which I replaced. Put the lower bearing wheel back on - belt wouldn't track - kept slipping forward until it came off. Adjusted top wheel tracking, no dice.
Next, I about stripped the unit down, cleaned it, replaced the bearings and had to adjust the trunnion for the lower bearing wheel bolt to attempt to get parallel/coplanar. For a while it was either the motor pulley belt would keep slipping forward and come off or if that was set then the blade would constantly track off - very difficult to get both squared away at the same time. I have a feeling the issue lies with the trunnion bolts and lower bearing wheel in getting/keeping parallel and coplanar.
Since many bandsaws are somewhat built the same and involve a trunnion on the lower bolt, does anyone have any advice on ways to set this? I'm sure there's a way much easier than I have been trying.
Thank you everyone.
