Sweet. I have some .50 cal pens but no pencil. That one doesn't appear to be a real .50 cartridge, but maybe there's certain manufacturers that make cartridges with those lines in them and I just never seen them. Whether it's a real cartridge or not it's nice.

This is a real 50 cal cartridge. I got a bunch from a buddy at work. I drilled out the primer to fit a rockler tool box kit. I had to use a couple of parts from two kits. I used a bolt action tube also to join the parts inside. I had some aluminum stock that I drilled out to press over the tool box kits. The the one I'm going to use a different pencil kit. It will make things a lot easier. I can always send my number via pm . To explain any of the process. I just made it as I went.

I used the nuts that you see on the top and bottom of the kit mainly to take up the difference in the nib. Next time I'll make a custom spacer. Just put the one on the top to match.

So are those vertical lines in the brass, or a reflection of something else in the photo? I don't recall ever seeing lines like that in any cartridge.
