Cypress, mango pewa, copper epoxy

That first view is awesome, with the swirls and knots in the wood grain and contrasting bow ties. Beautiful. The way you did the bottom on this one with that little pedestal base doesn't seem to fit well with the bowl shape. I think a simple flat bottom would work better to my eye.

I’ve been playing with various bottoms on bowls. You might be right.
 
Great shape Alan. Nice flowing curve throughout. You are doing an excellent job with the Pewa’s too.

Question- maybe it’s “just me”, but is it really 2” wider than it is tall. Almost looks like equal dimensions, height to width.

Measurements were correct. I’m including the rim enhancements in measurement.

Cool looking piece, lots of great details to grab the attention.

A couple comments. That foot and the bottom curve shows how much visual "lift" you can get in a piece with small details. I too would have guessed the dimensions were closer together.

I have a love/hate relationship with "feet". I love them when they just fit with a piece, but hate most of what I've tried to do with them. Feet that I've done are mostly hidden, in that you can't see them unless you pick up the piece. Usually no more than a 1/8" bump.

I can't decide if I like the foot in this one or not. If I had made this, I might have cut the foot to be about half the height. That's my bias though as I generally don't use a foot on anything.

Might be an interesting topic for a design discussion. Lots of people post photos of projects with feet and we all discuss what we like/don't
