I was looking to buy some ziricote and the guy sent me the first 2 pictures. Immediately, i realized that only 1 of these boards is ziricote. The rest strongly appear to be dalbergia. We've had some back and forth trying to identify the exact species.
Density: 73pcf
UV fluorescence: streaked faint blue (wood)
The strong rays and feathering in the lighter long grain initially made me think D. Cochinchinensis, but @Jperry93 pointed out that the pores appear to be much too large to be D. Cochinchinensis. James suggested D. Spruceana, which i agree is also a good match. That said, I don't think i can even rule out D. Stevensonii or D. Retusa at this point. The end grain seems off for retusa, but these came in a lot that contained a lot of retusa and i understand that the landscape pattern is most common in retusa and nigra.
Any insight on these? Sorry the photos are not the greatest.
