Did the Rules change---????? I keep seeing post that (so$so) bought item #2 but (so$so) has not posted anything .
I thought all sales had to be posted here not under the table.
I have turned down sales trying to follow the rules so seeing these post make me feel stupid.

The rules haven't changed. If someone contacts you all you have to do is start a thread. Maybe that's all you're seeing.

I think most people want to follow the rules- friendly reminders for the newbies or the inadvertent error is always good. the flagrant foulers- seems to me most either stay away or get scared away. A lot of it is on the honor system- we as a body need to help the Mods - they do not want to be cops- for almost 2000 people here we have very few bad eggs. I kinda wonder about that Woody guy though- seems to come and go!!!! Hide under chair smiley here.............

While I believe that people that join should follow those rules that are in the "charter", I think that as organizations mature they have to be very, very careful of incremental rule changes that are made by a few to enforce their behavioral agendas. It should be very difficult to make and enforce behavioral rule changes as an organization ages. This protects the rights of those without power or charisma who usually make up the majority of any organization.

You just posted ---man I want them all----- look at the first sale made in the ad.

Hey Gary That sale to Nowski started in another thread where he was asking for knife blocks. I happen to know this because I was part of the thread supplying him with cherry burl and maple burl. Aero just cut and paste his post and did a quick edit indicating Nowski had bought #1 otherwise the post and the pix are exactly the same from the WTB thread nowski started.

He should have referenced it yes, but you didn't do any homework on this. If you wanted to be a part of this community instead of attacking it like you have before you would have posted in the thread and asked Bill "How is it that Nowski has already bought this piece?" and left it at that without saying someone else's actions make you "feel stupid". If you feel stupid it's usually you that causes it not someone else. But instead you start a whole thread to promote your agenda which frankly is devisive and immature. Ask your fellow members for clarification next time - if you'd done that he would have almost certainly replied with: "Sorry I should have noted that in my post - that's my bad." and went on to explain the situation. Try it that way next time sugar gets more than vinegar.

Does your post have an agenda, behavioral or otherwise? If you had spent any time reading through the threads on this site you'd know that we have enforced the rules to the point of pissing off more "charter" members than new ones. By far. One of the very most active, well liked, and oldest members here left because he treated a new member with utter disrespect on the open forum and I sent him a PM reminding him that crap doesn't go here, but I didn't even use the word crap. My warning was respectful but firm. He left. That's the kind of even-handed enforcement we try to maintain here. We aren't perfect, but we aren't a good 'ol boys clique either, if you were thinking that.

Did I create this problem? I felt so insignificant until today. Maybe my impact around the. Forum is bigger than I thought.

I am sorry if I gave the impression I was not following rules I will edit when I get home to show the thread where now ski purchased the one piece. From his request for knife blocks.

I might be a guilty party. I offered to buy something that was on the "coming attractions" thread instead of waiting for it to move over to the "For Sale" thread. There has been no other activity on that thread, so I don't think that I have stepped on anyone's toes.....but I'll be more diligent going forward.

When a organization passes so many rules that you can't pass gas without being sanctioned it usually fall apart. There will always be someone who will work over time to find ways around rules but most times it is just a mistake on the guilty persons part and a simple reminder is all that is needed. At one time or another we will all probably be guilty, but you don't need to use a sledge hammer when a tack hammer will do. If you have a fast enough finger you can any wood you want on this site, from what I've seen.

This place beats the hell out of ebay, you will never see me complain about anything here, ya cant beat free:)

Henry I'm pretty sure someone PM'd Marcus and asked him to describe *me* in three adjectives or less.
