A set of Gabon ebony featuring a different hand cut pattern, for a client in Texas. Once I deepened the lines enough, the edges of the bars were "sharp", much like an elongated diamond, which created a "non-slip grip"..

Love em.
Seems like your clients like gaboon ebony too.

I vaguely remember you saying you were allergic to it? Is it getting annoying?

Thanks Dan. I still have a problem with burning eyes and nose sniffles, especially when checkering. I wear a magnifying visor which puts my face close to the work piece and close to the dust that hand cut checkering creates. But, I tolerate it and take nose blowing and eye wiping breaks! :lol2:

Another stunning set of checkered grips! The tutorial pictures are nice, thanks for sharing the process.

My scroll saw & jigsaw both have small blowers that push the sawdust away from the cut. I wonder if a small fan or vacuum would pull the dust away from your checkering lines? The noise from a vacuum would be a deal killer for me, I would have to find something that was on a remote control and well away from my work surface.
