If it has been sent i do not think it can be editted, at least not by members. I am sure a mod can.

As far as I know, we can't edit PM's either. Just send a corrected one. Tony

@Mlyle, I missed this earlier when I replied. Does yours not have the word "edit" on the bottom left of each message? I honestly don't know if yours does or not, Mods pages look different sometimes.

I know Kevin could- I do not remember if I could- 2013 probably 3 or 4 major software changes since then. I really do not think Conv should be able to be edited.

Speaking from experience there are several ways to go about addressing these things on the Board.

Lack of ability to edit, is not good. Errors can't be corrected, pictures can't be added, links can't be fixed, it's simply a pain in the keester. As we're discussing in Private Messages or "Conversations", (which is spooky in itself because it makes one wonder how private they are, if we're not calling them "Private Messages"). Then mods are required to go back and mark all sale posts complete. I know they do a bunch of them now, but if they'd explain you can go into the More Options, and Advanced Edit and anyone can edit title of their thread, and mark it done, they wouldn't have to do it all the time.

Many boards have the option to allow a post to be edited for XX hours. So you can fix anything you messed up, ad pictures to a post, whatever for 1 hour, 12 hours, 24 hours.

And, then there is the leave it open out front, while not allowing edit of Private Messages which I do not even remotely understand.

My guess is that it can’t be edited because if you and other member agree to something in a conversation for say $20 and then they go back in and change to $ 10. That wouldn’t be good? A conversation could be proof that you were supposed to get $20 and not $10. But you would no longer have proof.

Being low editor on the totem pole, figuratively speaking of course...

:sofa:

He likely doesn't have all edit functions allowed a "Super Moderator" like ripjack, or an Administrator. The authority granted a moderator can be granted on different levels in most forum boards. Some boards allow it by job title, others allow it by individual in setting up their account as moderator. Administrators have access to all sorts of goodies even the moderators don't see. Speaking from experience on all sides of the fence there.

That is typically why one allows limited edit time on the front side of the board as well. So that deals made, comments made, items posted, can't be edited after a thread slides a page or two deep, and is out of the limelight. Limited time to edit on the Private Message side of the board could be set up that way and eliminate the aggravation of not being allowed simple edits for correction of grammatical or spelling errors, and broken links.

Conversations or Private Messages as they are typically called there is no edit button. Only out here in the threads. If working on your phone, mine has a "More..." button at bottom of the post, and you have to click that and select Edit.
