I'll scratch some up for you and your turkeys. Impressive.
@Ken Martrin Pictures man! We need pictures! They like the two I’ve made so far! So did the guy that bought one of em! The other one resides in my hunting bag. It has sweettalked about 6 or 7 in so far.
Ken, I found a board of 5/4 chestnut that's almost clear and 28 inches long by 10.5 wide. The photos below show the front and back and the end so you can see the grain direction. Would any of this work for your turkeys. I could add worm holes for an extra fee. They like the two I’ve made so far! So did the guy that bought one of em! The other one resides in my hunting bag. Wow! That left side is perfect!
So, the board is 10.5” wide and 28” long. What would this piece of treasure run me delivered to 39042? (I’ll provide my own worms. I’ve got them well trained. But thanks for the offer.)
Oh, and @Wildthings , here are a couple of pics of that call. Only piece of chestnut I’ve ever had. Sorry about the mess in my shop, but it’s turkey season, soooo....

Actually, I think I can use the whole board this time. See the end block under the paddle? Those are chestnut, too. Grain doesn’t matter with them. I can also make the bases out of the wood that I can’t use for the paddles. It’s only in the paddles and sides that grain is critical.
But to answer your question, the paddles and bases wind up being 1 3/4” wide. So, anything 1 3/4” - 2” with quartersawn grain 90° up to about 50°-60° is perfect. I just can’t use flat sawn wood in the paddles.
Also, I don’t think I answered a previous question. Yes, I would like the 8/4” -12/4” Walnut crotchwood for bowls. I said 10” - 12”, which is really what I want, but I’d consider really good figure down to about 7”.
