@Wilson's Woodworking - I got a chance to dig out a chunk that I think will work for you. 3 wide, almost 9 long and almost 1 1/4 thick. Has a little eye figure in the middle but I think there's enough elsewhere for what you want. Dry and solid. NOT stabilized.

Let me know if this works for you and PM me your address and I can get it in the mail

That will work great! The question is what are you in need of right now? I did cut some black line spalted maple pin blanks the other day if you are interested?

I've got about 100 of those right now waiting to be stabilized, If you've got any squares of figured stuff about 2-3 inches by 1/2 to 3/4 thick I'm working on something if I can translate from my head to the lathe... whatever you think fair

Are you thinking walnut or maple or?

I have some figure. Need a pic? :wacko:

I will get some better pictures and I have some walnut somewhere if I can lay my hands on it. This maple is 3/4 and the walnut if I remember correctly is 5/8"
I think I just remembered where the walnut is. I will get a picture tonight. :coffee1:

Is this what you are looking for Or shall I keep digging. If you like this let me know how many you need for your project and I will cut what you need. If you need more than enough for the chunk of buckeye you can always throw in a few of those fat coco pin blanks. I can always find something to do with some coco even if I don't make pens.

Do you feel a 3x9 piece of each of those is fair trade? If so that'll be enough for what I'm working on.

I can do that. Are you in a hurry or can I wait till this weekend so I can cut with light. I get to work in the dark and I get home after dark during the week. No lights out in the shed, Just an extension cord to run everything off of. :scare3:
Or I can take them into work with me and cut them on the band saw if you are in a rush.:ok:

No hurry, I've got plenty of projects going to keep me busy PM me your address and i'll get the Buckeye packed up

Okay. I have a game box setting here that will get shipped tomorrow over my lunch. It has two pieces of the curly maple 3/4x3-1/4x8 and one piece of Walnut 3/4x3-1/4x9-1/4 plus a whole lot of pin blanks, call blanks, bottle stopper blanks and even a pepper mill blanks in it for you to stabilize for me as we discussed. When you get the box kind of estimate what it will cost to stabilize the batch and let me know so I can make sure I have the $$$ set aside to pay for it. Absolutely no rush on getting this stuff stabilized! :ok:
If something in that box just screams at you to be died just do it. I am not going to be picky. I have never worked with stabilized wood and am just looking forward to playing with it when I do get it back. Again there is no rush. I have enough to keep me busy for a couple years and I always seem to be adding to the todo pile. :wacko:

The buckeye came in yesterday and it is REALLY COOL!!!!!
I had never seen a piece in person and besides being very beautiful stuff I was amazed at how light it is. I figured it would be a very dense wood.
I am really going to enjoy working with this stuff.
:thanx2::thanx2::thanx2:
