I'm open to most any live edge but I would particularly like any of these if available:

Flame Box Elder
African Black Wood with the contrasting lighter brown against the black
Briar
Black and White Ebony or Palemoon Ebony
Thuya
Tamarind
Any Spalted or Marble type wood
Redheart or any reddish wood

As you can tell I'm mostly looking for contrasting or visually stunning designs in the wood. I don't need any specific size scraps because I finally bought a table saw and can cut to the thickness I need but live edge would be preferred.

It will be used for this kind of resin jewelry that I make:

Thank you.

Beautiful jewlery!

Interested in a trade at all? I can send a box of live edge burl offcuts for something to give to my wife if interested.

Yes that would be great. My website is a bit meager at the moment, but if you see something you like here www.zenresinwood.com let me know. I am also planning on creating matching sets of earrings, bracelets to go with the necklaces.

Cool I will check it out and also pm you!

I'm sure the wife will be very excited!

@ZenArtist That box of blackwood and maple burl I sent to your old address made it's way back to my house a few weeks ago. If you are interested I'll post the photos of it again. If you aren't interested in the maple burl I'll take them out and see if I can find AB to replace them.

also I do have thuya burl, but that is one of the burl types that they hack off the outer surface as I expect it is a requirement importing countries require no soil be attached to the wood; thuya burl being and underground burl.

Yes Steve, I would like that box that was returned to you. That would be great, just let me know how much it is. As far as the thuya goes, I guess I have to see a photo before I knew if I wanted it.

@ZenArtist here's a sample of what the outer surface of the thuya burl looks like. I have been cutting a number of knife blocks so I'll have several pieces 1 x 1-5/8 x random length. Cost would be $10 lb. It's about half as dense as blackwood so double the volume.

I might wait on the Thuya because I am more interested in that first box that went to my old address.

Nice work!

I made a bunch of these last fall for Christmas presents. They were a big hit, but I'm not making any more - too much teeny tiny gripping and grabbing while sanding and polishing. Made my hands very sad.

@ZenArtist I'll dig up the old post with the price I quoted. I'll throw in some thuya burl pieces for you to handle and decide if you want me to save you more for a future order. I still have your paypal address so I'll send the invoice for the returned box out to you later today.

James,
If you're not in a hurry, I have a lot of briar scraps that could be interesting for you. But not before October, when I'll be back home.
