Does anyone have a Bloodwood pen blank they would like to trade or sell. I need to find a blank to finish off this kit that I lost a piece and plan to turn a solid Bottom tube out of Bloodwood. image.webp

@Mike1950 I picked up a piece of padauk (well Chris S did) at Woodcraft it it wasn't anywhere near red enough to match up. I'm not sure it will work.

George, I should have a chunk of bloodwood somewhere. I'll try to remember to look sometime in the next couple days and get a pic for you of it. But, don't hold your breath waiting, lol - it might be a few days before I get into the shop again, so if someone comes up with a piece that works for you, go for it...
 
When do you need it George? I have some...

I also have redheart...

@ripjack13 I'm in no hurry. It's not going anywhere. Redheart won't work, that's the other blank that Chris S picked up for me. I think Bloodwood is the only thing that's going to do it.
 
What about some bocote or ebony for some contrast?

@NYWoodturner Thank you sir, I'm going to take a look at the bocote and see how it looks. I'll let ya know tomorrow. Thanks very much guys! Tonight is my night off spending time with the wife.
 
I've had these 2 laying around for a couple years. pretty sure they are both blood wood. Both just under 3/4" thick. Your welcome to either or both if still need them. I'll take pretty much anything you offer in trade. Thats just a little mineral spirits on the one side of them.

Richard thank you very much but I'll pass them off to Tony. I'm gonna use a piece of bocote.
