I have a ton of veneer. When I buy it from places like certainlywood.com, I can only buy the full sheet. So, therefore, I'll offer this up for trading. If you have a need for a small amount of a certain kind of veneer, I can cut you some off of my long/large pieces. Some of these are 10-12' long.

Stuff I'm looking for: Turning blanks, any size. I just traded some wood for a lathe today, so I now have a need for turning blanks. More figure the better, though those will probably wait to be turned for a while until I get used to it.

Some examples of what I have:

Cherry Burl, almost a 4'x4' piece

L-to-R: Holly, Curly Walnut Sapwood, Quilted Maple, Zebra Wood, Fiddleback Sycamore (not sure how much I have left), and Ribbon Stripe Sapele

Some burl I don't remember the name of, Redwood Burl

Birdseye Maple

Wenge

Walnut, Bloodwood (all out, unfortunately), Waterfall Bubinga, Holly, Purpleheart with a bit of curl

I do have some curly walnut as well, but I'm not sure how much I will have left over after the project I'm working on uses some.

There's also others that are not full sized that I don't have photos of: Maple, Cherry, Mahogany, Crotch Mahogany, Poplar, and various others I can't remember right now.

what do you plan to turn? determines the size of blanks you want. I used to turn game calls but now that I've lost my hearing I no longer need the blanks I have put up.

here is some you are welcome to. On the left is cherry, top is syscamore and osage, next to the big piece of cherry is some wavy cherry, cedar, Alaskan yellow cedar. Let me know if any of it interest you.

Sorry, Woodnutz. Was busy with the holidays. I've got plenty of cherry and other soft woods, but the Osage and Sycamore is interesting to me. What would you want in trade?

I'll have to double check the measurements on the Bubinga, Erik. I want to say it's about 6" wide though. Quilted maple I believe is more like 8-10" wide.

And just about anything at this point. Haven't really done any turning before. I would save them for a bit until I practice on some cheaper stuff.

Here's a big dump of more photos and some measurements. For all of the veneer, I'd like to keep at least half for me.

Erik,

Waterfall bubinga. Bit under 7 1/2", 51 1/2" long.

Quilted Maple, 10 3/4" x 55 1/2" long. I will be needing about 22" of this for a job I just got, and will probably want to keep a similar amount. So, maybe 12" left to trade of this after that?

And more photos of veneer that I didn't mention earlier. I still have a smaller 3 -drawer box of veneers, but those are all less than 8x8" pieces or so.

Man-made veneer.

Walnut sapwood. Has some light figure in it.

Honestly, no idea.

Some generic mahogany-esque veneer. Not true mahogany, but maybe Phillipine?

Lacewood

I believe this is Pelin Burl. 4 sequential sheets of this.

Zircote
24037854775_5c6653b2e6_b.jpg

Plain maple and plain cherry. Have lots of the cherry.

And 4 sequential sheets of Crotch Mahogany that I apparently forgot to take photos of.

Yes, I will be wanting to keep at least half of everything listed here. The exception would be that I could let go the sequential pieces listed (Pelin burl and Crotch mahogany).

The Bubinga is around $4/sqft.

The first photo is what it looks like in the sun in good lighting. The photos posted last night are under fluorescent lighting with a crappy phone camera.

Would be about 25-26" in length by the 7 1/2"ish wide. Might be easier to cut down to 22"ish or so to fit into a game board flat rate box though. It would have to be rolled if it's longer than that.

Most of the veneers could use some flattening. Just spray them a bit with warm water until damp, put newspaper on both sides, and then load up heavy flat things on top and underneath it. Takes a day or two and then they are ready for use. I just do that before using them all since they would lose their flatness in storage anyway.

Birds Eye Maple and Quilted? Or just Quilted. I've got a lot more of the birdseye and it's pretty darn wide.

So after cutting out what I needed for a job and what is going to someone else on another forum, there was like 12" of Quilted Maple left, with not very much figure and a big crack in the center. Sorry about that.

If you want them give me a snail mail address. I'll send them to you.

Hey Jeff I have interest in the following: fiddleback sycamore, redwood burl, wenge, w fall bubinga, and the "honestly no idea." if you can give measurements of what you want to get rid of that would be great and also a value

Ok, here's what I have for the woods mentioned along with a rough price/sqft, and a total. I figured out that the "Honestly no idea" wood is Tamo.

Fiddleback Sycamore: 3 7/8"x95 1/2", 1.5 sheets. $5.50/sqft for a total of $21
Waterfall Bubinga: 7.5" x 40", $4/sqft, $8.30 ish
Redwood Burl: 20 5/8" x 16 7/8", 2 sequential sheets. $7.50/sqft. I'd like half of this, so either only 1 sheet, or I can cut up both sheets if a sequential cut is desired. Total of $18
QS Sapele: 8 5/8" x 50", $1.25/sqft , $3
Wenge: 16" x 46", $3/sqft, $15
Zircote: 7.5" at the narrow end, 8 1/8" on the wider end, 28 3/8" long. $9/sqft. $13
Tamo: There's 4 sheets of this of various sizes. 29" x 6", 26 1/4" x 6 3/4", 20 3/4" x 6 1/2", and another one that has a chunk missing and a crack that I'll throw in free. $5/sqft for a total of $17.

Erik called the Bubinga first, so if he wants the whole piece, it's his. Totals are:

Erik: About $25ish worth. Shipping would have to be in a box with the veneer rolled up.
Bean counter: $70ish worth. Shipping would probably have to be in 2 parts since the burl has to stay flat. Wenge and Sycamore would be rolled.

What I'm looking for is figured blanks of any size. Something as small as pen blanks, up to ~12" bowls and platters. More figure the better. I don't have any projects at this time planned, but things like plane knobs, trays, bowls, ornaments, tool handles, etc all will work fine. Let me know what you have to trade. Figured claro walnut would be ideal.

Thanks Jeff. I'll start putting some stuff together for you and get pics. Are you interested in any turning kits? I have pens, pizza cutters, bottle stoppers and ice cream scoops

Sure. I'd be interested in them as well. Probably Pens the most, followed by bottle stoppers, ice cream scoops, and then pizza cutters.

Jeff here is some wood I have to offer. Let me know if any interests you. Measurements are on the blanks and if you'd like a close up please let me know.

1st pic: top right cyclinder is spalted maple feels solid all the way though so I don't believe it would need to be stabilized, below that is an ambrosia maple bowl blank, below that is zebra wood pot call blank. On the right would be buckeye

2nd pic: same buckeye piece and the next two are quilted maple which has incredible quilt (these will be a premium though). The 2nd pic of quilted maple does have a check that goes up about 5" and would need to be cut off since it does go through the middle.

Last pic: black oak burl peppermill blank. Covered in wax since 2013 so should be almost/close to dry.

Let me know if any interests you
