I've been getting back into coins recently and am looking to build my collection a little more. We are saving for a house so the only way for me to get some more coins is to trade some of my wood for coins or sell some and buy the coins I want. I figure now that the auction is over cash may be running thin so some swaps might sound attractive.

I have quite a few top shelf pen blanks of about any species and some really nice burls in call blank size or bigger. I also have some big bowl blanks in bloodwood and some other species. I have some very curly maple and other woods in flat boards.

If anyone is interested feel free to shoot me a pm and we can work out the details and can just post in the open forum that we are making a trade for some coins to keep with the forum rules and I'll post the wood pictures so everyone can see what's being traded or what's available.

I'm primarily interested in older (pre 1960) American coins and currency, pre 1940's is my favorite though. Although I could be interested in some older world coinage too and would be interested in ancients if anyone has any they would be willing to trade.

I'll post some pictures later today or tonight to give you an idea of what I might have to trade. Overall I have some pretty cool stuff I would part with.

Pen Blanks:

Call blanks and bigger: 20160207_210312.webp 20160207_210829.webp

Tons of wood to trade:

This is just an example of what I might have. If anyone might be interested please let me know!

I am interested to see if we can work something out. Will have to check what I have in terms of coins and see if any are of interest to you.

Will try to get pics and list up in the next few days.

Thanks,

- jason

Sounds good! I dug around in my collection and found some to send off for grading which is what made me think of trying to add to the collection.

Tremendous treasure trove of lumber, and great variety. Are you also open for straight sales? Chuck

I might be interested in selling some. I know my wife would like it haha I'll wait to see if any trades for coins turn up though and then if not I might sell a little.

I might be interested in any cool antiques if anyone has any they would part with too. I especially like advertising signs and posters (I hang them in the shop).

How 'bout a vintage Walker Turner Scroll Saw.....might be hard to hang in the shop, but you could find other uses for it.

Thanks for the offer. I don't need any equipment right now though. I already have a pretty decent scroll saw.

I have some coins! I've had these forever, they were my fathers. I looked the values up years ago but I forget what they were, nothing valuable enough to run out and cash in for retirement for sure, so they've been sitting here. If your interested ill post picks but my camera phone is broken so I didn't do it right away.
1922 liberty dollar with peace eagle on the back
1964 quarter
1976 liberty bell dollar
1943 penny (mildly tarnished)
1900 Indian head penny
1964 dime
1940 dime
1919 penny
1930 penny
1950 dime (slightly tarnished)
1905 Indian penny

I got a bunch of old coins, probably not worth much, i just collected them as a kid. Would be cool if coins could talk, I've got a handful that are over 100 years old, would be cool to know where they've been haha. I always see local auctions with old coins but have no clue of values so never waste my time going to them.

I'd be interested in a picture of them if you have time.

I've been collecting since I was about 10 or so. I love collecting coins, so much history behind them and some of the stories are really cool. I think the stories are my favorite.

I bought this note the other day. The signature in the bottom left corner is my great grandfather's from when he worked at that bank in the 1920's when they still had to sign and cut their own sheets of currency.
