@El Guapo Found the piece of Rosewood Burl we talked about in my other thread. It's not a big piece but would make some nice inlays or other small work. It's roughly 1/2" thick and 6"x7" at the widest points.

@El Guapo has first dibs on this piece. If he declines it will be open for trade offers.Looking to trade for pot blanks or grunt call blanks.

I'm not interested in a trade Jon, but potential suitors are going to ask you for some idea of what you're looking for in return.

Yes I realized that after I made the post.Went back and edited it.

Jon, if Andrew ends up being crazy enough to pass on that, I'll get in line to trade for it.

@HVGameCalls I'll take a look at what I have tonight and get something posted for you. Anything you're looking for in particular?

And @Sprung , what happened to your dalbergia allergy?! I should be offering to take all of your rosewood too!

For some crazy reason, I'm thinking this might be perfect for a couple sets of 1911 scales!

I've learned the precautions I need to take to work with it without having a reaction. I've worked with various rosewoods (including Cocobolo) since discovering my allergy to them, using certain precautions, and haven't had a problem since using those precautions. Not something I plan to work with everyday, but will continue to use on occasion - the rosewoods are just too beautiful to completely give up on!

Jon, I apologize that I haven't gotten to this yet. The wife had a surprise trip planned for us last weekend and we didn't get back until late last night. If you don't mind, can you give me until tomorrow night to get some stuff posted for you?

Take your time there's no hurry. My wife done me the same way last weekend. With being on the road 4-5 days a week we gotta spent every minute we can together.

Hey Jon, here are a few pieces that might work for you... they range from 1.5 square to 2 square and the shortest is 7 7/8 (just shy of 8" long). Left to right they are spalted magnolia, maple (lots of nice color though), carob (curl), and Indian rosewood. If I remember correctly, the last two came from Barry Richardson.

Andrew those will work.Really like that spalted magnolia and the Carob. So what are thinking on the trade.Like I said in the pm also have that malee Burl piece to throw in.

I would really love to get that mallee too! If I need to swap out the maple and/or IRW for something else to make it worth both pieces, let me know!

Hey man, did those blanks make it to you yet?
Andrew yes they did.I apologize for not getting back to you been crazy the past week with work and had a family emergency. I really like the blanks. They will make some nice calls. The magnolia is a little soft but it should stabilize well.I haven't had a chance to get yours in the mail yet.Haven't made it by the PO.I'll be back home tonight and I'll get it sent out first thing in the morning.
