**ENDED** A few more manzanita burls......

Hi Guys, have spent the last 3-4 days hackin', grindin', resharpening chains (lots of that) and came up with a few manzanita burl to look at. Some are round, some like "cakes", pretty much every shape......after all, they're manzanita.

But, 10-4 on the manz..... beautiful wood... 'specially on your bangles. Showed my wife your bangle pic....my mistake...now she wants one. : (

There's lots of it running the length of California and I think maybe southern Oregon. I've read that there are something like 90 different species in the genus Arctostaphlyos. Only a few grow burl and a few of them are on the endangered list. Mine are not on the list but they are endangered if I see 'em from my Cat.... : ) Burl types grow at higher elevations.....around here they start about the 2000 level and higher. I'm gonna try and get some pics of a few of them in the ground on my website. They're a very interesting plant with some of the prettiest wood (I think) in existance. I'm working on some new pieces for the WB gang, hope to get 'em posted soon. Thanks for your note, Rocky w , fe em
