Looking for someone to stabilize a bunch of pen blanks. Not sure what to offer in exchange. I figure either a portion of the blanks or I have other burls not cut up yet. I might also be interested in paying cash to have them done. I can shorten some of them to fit your chamber if needed. A lot of them are over 9". All are at least 3/4" square. Total count is 97 blanks. All Russian olive burl. 20150719_101647.webp 20150719_101736.webp 20150719_101744.webp 20150719_101749.webp 20150719_101753.webp 20150719_101757.webp 20150719_101804.webp 20150719_101809.webp 20150719_101911.webp

Since Tom tagged Colin work with him first but if he passes I would be interested in helping you out.

PM me, we can figure something out. My chambers are long enough for your blanks

Just for the record someone tagging someone else has no weight for first refusal.

Colin and I are working out a trade. I have a fairly empty week planned and will likely get bored and cut more blanks, which I'm sure will need stabilized as well. I'll make sure Scott gets first stab at that set when I get them cut since he's being so nice.

These are the best pieces I could come up with for you. Both are 2" square and over 11" long. Couple inclusions you can see in the pictures but solid. Moisture content is 22% on my meter. 20150720_083556.webp 20150720_083603.webp 20150720_083611.webp 20150720_083618.webp

Alright Colin. I have everything packed up and good to go. I threw in some peanuts on top for your own casting(some cutoffs from the lilac I chopped up today). They're a bit thin but I'm sure you'll get some good use out of them. I added a few more pen blanks for stabilization since the box was not nearly full. I should have it mailed out tomorrow. @Schroedc

Stabilizing wet olivewood ought to be interesting
Hold on. Are you talking about the pen blanks? I only checked a few but they registered 5% max on my meter...wait, you're talking about the call blanks. Haha. Those are just extra for him to do whatever with. Lol Those call blanks are solid with no need of stabilizing.

@norman vandyke , Here are all the pen blanks stabilized and ready to go back to you. I'll clean up the ends so they fit back in the box. PM'd you details on what I'd like to keep in trade if that works for you. Once we're in agreement I'll get them all mailed back to you.
