Rattlesnake skin 1911 grips!!!

I smell more wood burning !!!!!!!!!!! Marc has his thinking cap on also!!

I tan them in a soft tan which is soft and flexible and streachable ( for boots and so on) and a dry tan which is probably better for your purpose Marc, you would glue them on the wood grip and then lacquer them and they will last for years!!

While he gets the fun part I'll be out in the heat cutting up this nasty dirty old cactus! ( this is where you are supposed to feel sorry for me:lolol:, hint, hint):lolol::sorry2:

Here you go! And I do feel sorry for you:sorry2:! Take lots of water and scavenge for cactus at 5am! And watch out for the pack rats and critters that live in that stuff

Don't forget the Diamondback Rattlesnakes I have to fight for the cactus!!! They always lose though and end up in the freezer and then I tan them, they make fantastic boots and pen blanks and you might even figure a way to make Bangles from them!

I don't know about the pens, but wouldn't it be pretty hard to get the rattlesnake to swollow a bangle core?:dash2:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blanks are done and will ship tomorrow. The 5" was a bit tricky to find another piece large enough after the original exploded on the bandsaw...... Shipping out tomorrow.

Just wanted to let you know. This color is actually a Lavender color, number 18 on the color chart, is that ok?

Also, yes to the heat being an issue and no please do not use it as a trivet.
