This Blue Mahoe, the first piece finished from a trade with Joe and Missus Rebuild, was a joy to turn. I was most pleasantly surprised with the way that it dried....just two weeks in the dry box and maintaining it's shape with little warp and no cracking. The shop smelled so nice, that I didn't sweep up for a week!
The bright purple color that showed when first cut, dried to a nice mauve. I can't say enough about how sweet this stuff is for a turner.
Three pieces came out of the log that he sent...this one goes back to Florida, the second (not quite finished) stays here, and the third piece I'll grudgingly cut in half and turn a couple smalls so that the trade is right.

I use that camera lens on the fish I catch too! It's 8" x 6 1/2" (Not Huge)
