You can always find briar on www.vermontfreehand.com . I buy a lot of mine from Steve.
I can also sell as much as you'd like.
I have some stuff that really is crap, but will make a good smoking pipe. It is just going to be full of imperfections. I'd take $5 a block for it. Would be fine for learning to work with the wood.
I have some stuff that is really nice and priced very well, but is a little wet. I won't use any of it for another 6 months probably, but you could use it sooner.
It will be $20 a block for good sized blocks with nice grain. These would be probably $35 blocks dry.
Ok sounds good I am currently just looking around but for now I am interested in the cheaper stuff just to get my foot in the door Friday I can get some extra cash together and we can go from there IL most likely get 50 or 60 dollars worth I'll be in contact with on Friday thank you for your time I appreciate it
Rob

Rob
Sorry for the delay to reply.
For the moment, I have but a few plateaux but I will have more pipe making material soon. If you’re not in a hurry, I’ll try to open a thread in the next few weeks. As of now, another colleague (@jaxrbetter) has first dibs, if he’s still interested of course.
To give you an idea (not on sale for the moment), I uploaded the following pics with 3 plateaux I have on hand for the moment. Such XL pieces are priced from $20 to $25.
From left:
1) 50-53mm (2-2 3/32”) x 25mm+ (1”+)-80mm (3 ¼”) x 140mm (5 ½”)-170mm (6 ¾”) - 12-14% MC
2) 55mm (2 3/32”) x 60mm (2 3/8”)-75mm (3”) x 120mm (4 ¾”) - 10-12% MC
3) 58mm (2 ¼”) x 40mm (1 5/8”)-80mm (3 3/32”) x 130mm (5 1/8”) - 12-14% MC
Unfortunately, until now I can’t honor big orders for I’m not organized this way. And I generally don’t process pipe stuff material, preferring rather to focus on pen, knife and call blanks for I use these sizes for my own needs. Another reason is, unlike the above specific blanks, briar pipe blanks are commonly available in the US and elsewhere. And I don’t want to be a competitor for professionals who sell briar pipe blanks for a living. This is not to say I can’t occasionally offer a few pipe blanks if a colleague asks for. This is the case for a few plateaux claimed by a colleague the last time I sold briar through WB.
