I have up for trade 6 bottle stopper blanks, these are all cast in Alumilite, they vary in size, some are 1 1/2x 1 1/2x 1 1/2 and some are 2x2x2, 2 of them are Sweetgum balls and the rest Jumping Cholla cactus, I'm looking for a nice big piece of burl wood that I can get a good number of nice pen blanks out of.

What have you got for trade?

Joe

Joe wish I had some burl to trade.

I'll take your first born in trade, NO on second thought I've already been down that road with my own and don't want to do it again, I'm too old for that crap!

What else do you have ? gold? silver?:teethlaugh:

Looks likeit could be good stuff for filling cracks in bowls yeah. Thanks for sharing..:treehugger::help::treehugger:

Sorry Guys, there is no way I could tell you I use Alumilite for casting these blanks, and forget about me saying I get it from Alumilite.com:teethlaugh:

If you want to use alumilite you will need a mold and pressure pot as the alumilite is thin as water and forms bubbles while it cures so you need the pressure to minimize them. For filling cracks you can do a few things. If you wanted to use the color Micas like use in these blanks (Coastalscents.com and PearlEx from Amazon) you can mix them w/ Epoxy and fill the cracks. If you wanted to use something like Turquoise you could pack it in and soak w/ CA, the CA is how I did this pen http://woodbarter.com/showthread.php?tid=2003 .

You're just an old but talented fart.:davidguil:
Have you noticed that there is one area of life where there is no age bias and that is in the trades?

Joe your pm center is full. Pm me how much cash for the set?

I know it's full my friend, I have deleted messages but it is not emptying, I think kevin is looking at it. "Figured it out, had to empty the trash can"

I am waiting for rbaccus to get back to me as he offered to trade me some burl for them, if that does not work I'll give you first dibs on them.

I would like to say Joe (aka shadetree1) is a super guy to trade with. The mail arrived today with some beautiful stopper blanks and some extra space filling wood. Work is keeping me busy (plus working on the house) but can't wait till cooler weather and things slow down so I can polish a few up.

I got your box today Larry and must say I was impressed But I think you got the short end of the stick my friend, when you said you wanted to trade that big chunk Walnut for the cast stoppers I figured it would come all cut up to fit in the large flat rate boxes or something like that, Well folks, it come all in one BIG piece ( 38" long and 24" wide and 5" thick ) just like the picture!!!!!! Now that was a breath of fresh air I'll tell you, a man that sends what he says he'll send! With Larry, you can be sure you'll get what he says you'll get !!!!!!! And it's as solid as a rock also!

Thank you very much my friend!!!!!!!!

Joe
