I'm new to the site and I enjoy trading. I am in need of some burl and nicely/highly figured pen blanks and I want to put the offer out that for a sfrb of nice pen blanks I will turn and send a nicely finished pen back to you. Blanks I'm looking for are 3/4" x 3/4" x 5 at the minimum.

If you are interested post pics of what you have to offer. I have posted some pics of a pen I turned recently as an example of my work. It is a Kingwood on a Majestic Jr. kit. I have many pen types you can choose from.

Those are so beautiful blanks... drool
I was just checking out those beautiful razors you just posted. I really like that style of blade that takes the square two sided blades. I think I'll get some stuff together tomorrow and post on that thread. Assuming you're up for it? Lol.

Jim, what are your minimum dimensions you need for them?

Thank you for the offer. If they would all be full size, you'd definitely have a deal, but The smaller blanks are not something I'd be able to use.
Im sure Norman could come up with some full size ones if you need them bigger, hes a ROB master.

@norman vandyke , are the blacks and dark colors in there natural or are they burns from cutting the wood? They look like a natural part of the wood to me.

They're natural. From decomp process. They start with sap wood turning white, then the heart wood turns dark grey to black, then the cool stuff starts. Blacks turn purple and copper colors randomly appear. Black lines start to run through the grain. I like the solid copper color they get when they don't get the chance to decompose too. They just dry in the sun until bone dry. Cracks run deep but under them, it's just gorgeous with shimmering copper to orange. Great...now I need to burl hunting...Thanks Josh. Good thing I have next week off. :-)

Sounds awesome! I haven't seen the ones in person you traded me yet but I don't think they have that sort of awesomeness going on (I don't think you had cracked any open like that yet when we made our trade). I need to trade or buy some from you like that, they look and sound awesome.

Wow! Those look great! What kind of pen are you looking for? Would you like me to use this wood or some from my stock? I have curly maple, sepele, walnut, black walnut, redwood burl, cocobolo.

I like the kingwood one you have there but if that's not available cocobolo would be my next choice. Do you have conversations activated yet? You'll know if when you click on my name, you see "start conversation" option at the bottom.

I'm pretty sure we will work something out. I already have some set aside for 7.62x54 shell pen. I'll get some aside for you as well. I'll have to go through your old posts to see what kind of pens you make. I'm partial to fountain pens.

I think I've finally found a way to get a few big stumps out of the ground using a floor jack. Should work but it'll take some patience. Lol! Gonna try next week. I'm really excited to finally get some big ones. Not as big as some of the burls everyone else hunts for. Only 2' diameter(pretty much the biggest I've ever seen in person up here). I've got my eye on three of them. One is buried in wet sand and is bug infested. Should have some amazing color. Gonna need stabilizing like nobody's business.

I can make lots of different stuff, I haven't made a fountain yet but have a couple of them at home I drilled before I left that I plan on turning when I get back. I believe they are curly koa. I can't wait to go burl hunting when I get back. I know where there's a massive mesquite burl in the training areas I'm dying to get but I don't have 4wd to go and get it.

Hahaha! 4 wheel drive...you got two legs don't you? Vehicles aren't allowed where I get my burls. I'm gonna have to haul those big ones out strapped to a hand truck!
