These are some top notch boards, and although have been discounted a little, they're too high quality to go in the Fire Sale thread. The feather patterns in the feather boards will pop to the degree they look like marble. I'll guarantee these boards to pay the return shipping also if not happy with them.

B, C, & D are not punky or even soft, because they dried hard. Everything is at EMC. But parts of them might be best used for stabilized blanks. These would produce some high end gun grips and knife scales, but IMO would be fine for resawn boards too. 100% guaranteed including shipping.

I'm a callmaker use 1 1/2 thick blanks. Were would i find out what 4/4 and all those numbers mean. I'll look in my wood books again guess i'm stupid. Rick

Defiantly not stupid Rick.
4/4 refers to a board that is at least 1 inch thick. 5/4= a board at least 1 and a quarter inch (1 1/4). 6/4 = 1 1/2 and so on, adding a quarter inch as you go.
Never be embarrassed to ask "how thick is your 4/4, or 7/4" that way you will not be surprised.

Rick, like Mizer says never be afraid to ask. Cannot add to his answer.

For calls, B, C, & D would be ideal.

To further stir the pot: The buyer of wood in the rough is always gonna like the 4/4, 5/4 etc to be on the phat side, which means a 4/4 board is gonna measure out about 1.06 to 1.25" or more. The board foot price will be based on the theoretical (4/4=1", 5/4=1.25" etc.) board thickness x width" x length" divided by 144. Sawyers usually cut their wood a little thicker than the exact thickness so that after drying, the wood is close to 4/4, 5/4 etc.

I know it's a little off topic, but I will take an LFRB of 4" x 4" x 12" FBE whenever you have some. My stock is getting reeeally low.
