I'm milling right now for a couple hours until the rains hit again. If anyone has any particular sized turning blanks or lumber they want let me know and I'll cut it for you. I'm milling back-orders but I can maximize the logs if I also have some other orders to make the most of the log sizes.

Of course you are not making a commitment without seeing the wood and even then you can pass - I can always sell any size stuff eventually. This wood will be for sale or trade.

Kevin - I would be interested in some FBE for pen blanks and bottle stoppers. Not looking for any serious BF just some to be able to experience turning it and hopefully make something pretty along the way. Not sure I have anything equivalent to trade for at the moment, well at least until I get an opportunity to mill some of the larger Apple, Crab Apple, Cedar, and Pecan I have lying out back.

Just sent you a PM for some FBE. My size requirements are small (4" x 4" x 4/4), so I am pretty easy to please. :biggrin:

Got you PM. Since I don't know the answer to your question. I am not sure about how it works with bangles. (I do like some Bangles. :mocking:)

I'll PM my PP email and you can send me $5 and I'll send you sfrb with as many free samples I can get in it. One layer will have to be thinner than you want but at least you can experiment with them so see what full sized one would look like. I bet I can get twice as many in a fr envelope if so I will send that instead. Same price.

I'd defintiely be interested in seeing any of the fruitwoods when you get them milled. When you say you not looking for "... any serious BF . . " what's that mean? :unknown:

Kevin - sorry I was not clear, been one heck of a day at the day job... What I meant was that I am not looking for a whole heck of a lot right now, just some to play with making some pens and stoppers. Now after I have seen and turned some that may become a different story. :) Potentially something like a medium flat rate box with any miscellaneous that can be cut to make pens / stoppers.

What size are you looking for, and I will see if any of the stuff I have in the basement out of the snow will fit the bill. If not what would you be looking for $ wise?

Kevin, I received the box of FBE today and it is fabulous. The LFRB arrived in great shape and that was one quick turnaround. My wife is drooling over it, which means it was one good purchase! I'm hoping to make some chips this weekend. Thanks again, Eric.

Stabilizing is a process which replaces the air cavities in the wood structure with plastic resins. You can use a vacuum pump to pull as much air out of the wood as possible. Stabilizing improves dimensional stability as well as making turning soft / punky wood easier and/or possible.

I can't answer you right now Joe and I made a tentative agreement, but we are setting aside large stuff like this because the Rebuild's may be getting visited by the Kevin's and the Kevin's may be getting a visit by the Rebuilkd's and or both or none we haven't figured it out concrete.

We want to make a road trip and visit some WBers along the way and so do they. Lemme talk to Joe about it . . . .

John thanks for correcting my mistake. Those pepper mill blanks wanted to go on a deep south vacation before going to Hawaii. Sometimes it would be nice to be a pepper mill blank. Until you filled with pepper. I'd be sneezing all the time.

I would like to find some FBE for hollow form turning. What is the largest size cube or rectangle you can do. Looking for something around 12 -16 inches.

At 12% (EMC here) it's roughly 36 pounds per cubic foot. Several ounces less than 3 pounds a BF right out of the kiln depending on the character.
