I planned on keeping this one but I have to stop hoarding so much wood. :dash2:

I also normally do not sell pieces like this here because they are a bit pricey and I like to keep prices down here for my wood. This piece has quite a bit of spalt and flame and curl. Usually flame boxelder with this much spalt is very punky at least, but this one isn't. It has some small places within the tightest spalted areas where your fingernail can't make a dent with hard pressure but it isn't punky anywhere. You can see where I wetted it . .

This flitch is 64" long by 10" - 12" wide and 7/8" thick. It's at EMC here which is 12%.

No tire-kickers or curiosity-seekers please. If you are a craftsman and are seriously considering doing something with this lovely board express your interest here then PM me. Since my description of the spalt & "sort of soft" areas are subjective I will offer this piece as "no risk" in that while I may require payment up-front depending on who buys it, I will definitely pay shipping both ways if not satisfied.

Not a cheap sales tactic for me to say I won't be disappointed at all to see this thread die without a single reply.

It's a pretty board, but based on your description, I don't think the pictures do it justice… I can see the flame and the spalt, but I'm having a hard time making out the curl/figure.:scratch_one-s_head:

Just to be clear, your board is safe around me… I can't think of anything to turn from something so thin, but I still get a kick out of seeing a beautiful piece of wood.

That is one beautiful piece It's almost a piece of art. Just think what that would look like finished and positioned above a fireplace in a great room. Drool drool drool Unfortunately (actually fortunately) that spot is taken by my son's artwork

I appreciate the thought Jeff but I'm no fan of color enhancement. It's not accurate and the piece is prettier in person than my pictures or your enhanced one.

No harm done, I just prefer natural color or even understatement.
