The final two boxes are now packed and all three will be mailed tomorrow. These are Regional Rate B boxes which are about the same size as the LFRB but only cost $8 because you and I live in the same postal region. Very economical way to ship up to 20 lbs if the recipient is in a nearby region. I'll send you a PM with all the tracking numbers - probably this evening.

Glad you like it, Bill. I was lucky to find this stash after all the years in storage. Curly cherry is one of my favorites to use. Each of these boxes will make two nice tops for end tables, by the way.

Thanks again Larry. I did not see the publications, just made it a few layers down and stopped when seeing tiny bugs and straight to the freezer. Also, the opposite cross corners were open, so they could have been hitching a ride. Regional rates do save a good bit.

IWCS member Dennis Brett donated his collection to Penn State. Around 6 thousand samples, and 3 thousand species, I think. No, that's not it. I'll think of it later. Professor Charles Ray took it on just before the college cut his funding and the entire Wood Products program, by nearly half for some. They have sadly dropped the ball compared to their past.

Mark, I don't recall hearing about what you did with those hundreds of old Asian wood samples I sent you. Are they in your collection or are you still processing them?

2 boxes are actually still in the freezer, they had book lice or some sort of critters. Paul wanted to go through the samples but has been backed up, so the other boxes still sit in the dinning room among other boxes. I have gone through the none freezer boxes. The labels had fallen off a few, so I was doing some matching name stuff, but have not finished.

As for in the collection, no they have not been re-cataloged or cross referenced yet. I was holding off until I had done some more background reading first. Thought with the 10 day Covid shutdown I'd had got more done, but only made it to 2010 on the honey list.
