Ok, most of what I had of the pile in front of my shop is gone. I cut up the rest into blanks. The slabs were from around the outside of the tree and from the inside near the ant eaten hollow center. So, I made each blank as big as I could. This will take quite a few posts. So, please bear with me. The blanks are numbered 1-21, but some were sold already. I will be happy to combine blanks into larger boxes for anyone that wants multiples. I can/will put whatever will fit into flat rate boxes if that is what people want. Otherwise, I usually ship Parcel Post because I've found it to be about as cheap as you can get. Local pick up is, of course okay.
The wood still has moisture in it. I would call these turning blanks. Each blank's pic was taken before I sealed it. And they were all sealed right after the pics were taken. Some blanks have some small cracks. I decided to cut one blank to see how far the cracks went in. I cut 1/4" off and the cracks were gone, so whatever cracks you may see don't go far. Just about all the blanks have 6 pics: One of the face, one of each side, and one of the back. I could see many of these being really cool NE bowls. But you can decide which orientation will work best for you.
