Eyes, figure and all that jazz! Russian olive burl hollow forms. Solid and sealed with as2 except for the cube, which is dry and could use stabilizing(full of swirl though). These measure as follows from lower right, counter clockwise.

2-1/4"square by 4-1/8"
3-1/4" cube(this one could use stabilizing)
1/32" shy of 4" square by 5"+
4-1/4"x4-3/4"x5-1/4"

These all fit mfrb with room for peanuts. Some small end checks on largest block(should work out). If you're not into making hollow forms, these can be cut up to make at least 3 or 4 knife blocks plus extra pen blanks. Looking for a trade for a few knife blocks or scales with swirl or eyes(I prefer swirly). 20150725_081456-1.webp 20150725_081516-1.webp 20150725_081529-1.webp 20150725_081542-1.webp 20150725_081554-1.webp 20150725_081610-1.webp

Norman - they are beautiful pieces but not quite big enough for hollow forms or vases. If they were larger I'd be all over them.
For future reference, what is a good size for hollow forms? I'll probably run into some good ones at some point.

When it comes to hollow forms every turner kind of has their own style, but IMO 6x6 up to about 15x15 is the optimal range and for height a minimum of the width. anything taller is fine. 6x6x9 is a good size. 7x7x10, 8x8x12 etc...

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind while I'm wildly hacking up pieces of wood.

Sorry I have been busy with other stuff, I am interested in trading for some of this beautiful wood. I would mostly be interested knife block sizes with burl on both sides. I can trade for different sized woods I have amboyna, buckeye burl, Aussie burls like mallee and jarrah, I have lots of maple burl and figured maple, Honduran rosewood burl. If you let me know what species and sizes I will take some pictures for a trade.

Cody got this box but I know I'll come up with some knife blocks in the future. You'll be first on the list when I have a few knife size available. :-) I really like hrb and beb.

Norman approached me about trading for box 5 I had for sale. He said there was no interest in this so we struck a deal and I will show pics tonight in here of what I'm sending. After figuring out he doesn't have a lathe there's no point in sending him stoppers so they will be switched out for some other stuff.
