When John introduced himself yesterday and showed the beautiful bowls he cast, I remembered that I had this chunk of Guatemalan rosewood that is bug-eaten in the center. I sold a few slices of it here and on Etsy but the piece left is large enough for several 6" diameter cast bowls.

This chunk measures 8.25 long by 7" x 6". The photos here show all the sides and both ends. You could get at least 3 bowls that are 6" dia by 2.5" deep.

I could probably squeeze it into a large flat rate box. The price is $65 plus shipping. I'll work with the buyer to get the shipping cost as low as possible. It weighs 9 lbs.

That is a pretty piece. If noone has claimed it yet I interested in this piece. How much do you think shipping would cost? @FanklinWorkshops

John, the shipping will be $18 for the large flat rate box. I'll also throw in a few other wood turning blanks to fill the box for no additional charge.

That sounds good. How do we go about processing this?

John, I've been watching the extremely slow pace of delivery of your box. After six days, it finally made it to Denver. Maybe another two days and you will have it. The old Pony Express was faster than priority mail these days. At least there is a logical movement to your box. I shipped one last week to Brooklyn, NY, which is only a little more than two hours north of me. It actually went to Roanoke, VA, and sat there for two days until someone figured out that New York was not in Virginia so they put it on a truck and hauled it back north over a five day period. And the PO wonders why they lose billions every year.

They thought the box should go to me and if they wait long enough, the name would change on the box. It didn't so they went ahead and sent it to NY.

John, it looks like the box was delivered to you today. Is that true? Was it in good shape after spending a week's vacation in Denver Postal center?
Hello sorry I have been unresponsive to your questions, my phone was broken and I had to wait for a new one. I am still waiting, but I got tired and just got a temporary one from wal Mart for the time being. I did get my package today that is a beautiful piece. I can't wait to do something with it. I am curious though, what are the other pieces you sent me? They are just as beautiful and will be a lot of fun to turn.

Glad you like the rosewood. John, I've sent so many packages out since then that I forgot what I added to yours. Can you post a photo here of the extra pieces to jog my memory? To fill a flat rate box, I normally just grab a piece or two that's laying around that I think you might like.
