You may be right, Kevin all we have in Colorado is this red burl. Not a straight grain anywhere. That stuff is amazing, and whether its Texas or Colorado my heart still races to see the beauty of it. It's Christmas every time you crack open these beauties. Oh, and did I mention I'm the king of boxelder burl? :i_dunno:

The stuff sure is pretty but Id heard the color fades out? True or False???

Id sure like to get my hands on some if the color stays.
 
Kevin, Dog is very good at posing for pictures!!! I love the grey almost as much as the red and the combo is perfect in 2 large pieces. I keep going back to dog- nice sidekick................

Kevin, After cutting all the FBE that you have cut-can you tell from the outside wht the package will be inside or is it still a total guess- Just a curious question. Those 2 pcs. are really really RED...........:yipee::yipee::yipee:

Yes, about 98% of the time, and that 2% that's even prettier than I expect is a rush like cannot be described. I've milled thousands of logs and the surprises are still just as good as the first time it happened. Even the 98% that I have a good idea what I'm going to see are still a rush! :pleasantry:
