This block is pretty awesome. It does have some challenges however so I'd advise only experienced turners to consider it, or someone who wants to resaw it into smaller blanks or boards.

As you can see there's an off-center pith check that runs the length of the block. There's no punkiness on the sides or ends, but who knows about the center. I think it's almost certainly sound as well. However I'll offer a full refund including shipping on this one simply because it's a bit of an unknown.
Even if it has some punk in the check, there's still plenty of great wood there and for the experienced turner this could be a stunning partial hollow form. If purchased, if there is punk once it's rough turned or resawn, stop where you're at when you notice it and contact me. I'll email a prepaid return shipping label and issue an immediate refund for the full purchase price so you won't be out a dime.
If you trade me something for it, I'll wait until you rough turn or resaw this block before requiring shipment of mine, once we have agreed to terms and I've seen good pics. Fair enough?
Stuff I'm interested in? Anything with lots of figure that isn't somewhat common. Examples: Curly or Tiger Maple? No. Quilted Maple? Yes. Rare domestics or exotics? Yes. Most anything burled? Yes. If in doubt aks. All I can do is decline - maybe I have a different piece I'll counter-offer with for what you offer.
