do you do any dyeing before stabilizing, this reminds me of petrified dinosaur bone. would look great in red and black

yes
some very large ones but mostly not in the reds, reds are very pricey
you need to get to quartzite AZ or Tucson AZ for the january gem shows

Got a few slabs - one of two with a smidge of red. Haven't found any the last couple of shows I've been to. Really haven't found any good pet wood either. I think they are trying to force .me to the AZ shows.

i have some awesome petrified woods, self collected. including ones with fossil algae plumes over the wood
Never have done any dyeing, wouldn't know where to start. So if you want to dye some you might have to look elsewhere.

Did you ever get this spalled guava ? It's been almost 2 years ago now. But I've been trading some notes with John (he turned one chunk of that aspen stump I dug out) and he's sending a few smaller pieces back to me to stabilize. So I figured it makes sense to compile a batch of stuff if I'm going to go through the effort of setting up the vac pump etc etc. So if you have some of that guava you want stabilized (or if you just have a couple pieces you want to sell me) I'll stabilize them later this month.
