I have quite a bit of spalted soft maple available for trade. It is currently in the form of end sealed log sections from 4" diameter up to about 20" and 20-30 inches long.

I only have a chainsaw to use for milling, so I imagine most of the interest will be in turning stock. I've included a couple pics of my turnings from this wood to give you an idea of the blackline configuration. The wood is mostly dry now, but still turns quite well with a little tearout.

I'm open to about anything in trade, from hardwood thins and cutoffs to flatboards, to turning stock, I'm easy to please.

I might be interested. Is there anything in particular you are looking for?

Dan, like I said before, I'm easy to please, How about this, you tell me what you want, and if it is able to ship in a frb, I'll send it and you send a same sized frb with whatever you think is a fair trade. I don't care if it is turning stock, flatstock, thins, cutoffs, veneer, or whatever.

Dan, scratch that above. I just looked at your profile, and seen your age. I don't want anything in return, just to help you with a great hobby. PM me your shipping address, and a large flat rate box will be on it's way. If you have any particular size pieces in mind, add it to your pm.

Mike Has anybody told you today what a good guy you are???? :good2::good2::good2:

I need to second that. However so far I've been cashing out on free wood on this site, so how about in return, I'll send back a bowl I turn. Or even two. I just don't want to keep getting wood without giving anything back.
Thanks,
Dan

Not necessary Dan, but if you have any spares, I'd love to have one of those  pens you've been cranking out.

any particular size blanks your looking for? Or shall I just stuff a box with an assortment?

A pen will be no problem at all. Do you have any wood or hardware preferences? I added my size interests in the PM.
Thanks,
Dan

No preferences on the pen, whatever you want to send will be fine. Just rechecked your pm, but cannot find anything about your size preferences???

Huh. I thought I noted something but I guess I forgot. Anyway, my one request on size is that the pieces are no greater than 10 inches in diameter, due to the size of my lathe. Other than that I'm pretty open. A few spindle or pen balnks would be nice, but the main thing I'm interested in are bowl blanks. Again, I'm pretty open , so send whatever you like.
Thanks,
Dan

I'll swap you if you still have any... I'm thinkin 2 sticks 12" inches long and 6" dia" would fit in a LFRB nicely (if you flatten the sides a bit) I have a pretty good variety of flat stock and thin stock. If you use a particular thickness, let me know and I will mill it to that thickness for you, and fill up a LFRB in return. Thanks, Barry

I should be able to fill that order barry, will pull some out and get it out tomorrow. Pm shipping info.

Whatever you have for trade is cool, I can always use flat stock up to 4/4 for my boxes, and thins of various thickness for my laminations.

I have some 3/4 -7/8 x 5 1/2" walnut is that something that would work for you?

Also have some malpe 3/4 - 4/4

I can always use walnut, I'll get you a chunk milled and sent probably tomorrow.

Pm your mailing address pls.

Friendly reminder, y'all are supposed to be showing some pics of the wood you're offering. Hardtwist already has.

Hardtwist you can waive off the requirement for pics but if you do you'll have to eat the wood if you're unhappy with it, or you'll be responsible for shipping costs back both ways.

I'd ask for pics but it's your call.

I agree Kevin, pics should be included. However, in this case I'll waive the pics requirement for the 3 trades already pending. Maybe I'm too trusting, but I've had nothing but good experiences with the people on here, and my original offer to trade was pretty unspecific as to what I expect in return.

That said, please send pics with any future responses to this thread as it does clearly state in the rules, and could be a bad precedent to set.
