They where not stabilized my friend, they where cast in Alumilite resin and at this point we don't to the best of my knowledge have anyone else doing that kind of casting. Wish we did.
I can and have stabilize and cast cactus blanks. The end grain cactus is miserable to turn but stabilizing it helps a lot with that. My problem at the moment is I am very limited on shop time and I do not have any cactus. Coming up with the cactus would be easier than coming up with the time. Are you looking for blanks or turned pots and how many are you looking for?
Josh, If you are not in a hurry I will put you on my list of projects and try to round up some cactus. I have some trades and a lot of other stuff to get caught up on so it will be a couple of months at best.
Mine sound like the real thing. Toms, jakes, n hens all want to have a conversation with me when I use it. Even in my backkyard, they gobble it up and come real close....but not too close cuz my dog will want to chase em...l o l
OK no problem I'm not in a big hurry. I'm down for a few weeks anyway BC I'll be having hernia surgery next week, so nothing much but couch time for me anyway for awhile. How much do you estimate 2 blanks running?
