**ENDED** Trade with DRW

Greg, I have the other half of that Mappa Burl ;) and more red mallee and coco than I know what to do with. I'm interested in the two medium length hickory pieces, the ebony, and the willow burl you mentioned. Thanks. Dave

Ok had these pix for a few days finally dedicating the time to post em. These are all the whole willow burls that I have. (About 12 of em) There are 3 large slabs approximately 20-24" in diameter. Thickness is 1.5-3" thick. You may notice some of the burls have marble sized lumps on em.... when cut these burls have large curls that extend from the center of the burl to the corresponding lump on the outer edge. If the slabs weren't waxed and full of crud you would see this effect much better. It kinda looks like a pinwheel in the wood. The color of willow range from cream to tan to beige, to salmon pink.... these burls haven't produced any pink yet but have produced a wide spectrum in the tans, creams, and browns. Willow won't handle moisture well unless stabilized or sealed well. It is however a really awesome wood with dome pretty cool uses. One of best local customers comes from MN to visit family a couple times a year. He will buy any clear willow I have big enough to build viola&cello bodies.

I can't really tell the figure based on the pics and wax, but it doesn't look like what I'd want. Any pics of the cat calls blanks or BL M? Thanks. Dave

Ok the first pic has 3 blanks in the middle that are call sized. The next pic is some of your chittum that I cast for pens but I could do the same for call blanks. The last 4 pix have a call blank on the left. It is the same pieces in all 4 just rotated 90* each pic to show all the sides.

Casting new blanks is high on my priority list for the next week. I will be ready to cast any of the following burl species starting Sunday afternoon. I can cast 1.5 and 2" square blanks 6" long in almost any color you want
Cherry
Maple
Oak
Ash
Hrb
Amboyna
Buckeye
Redwood
I have a buckeye pot call made but I can't seem to find the pic at the moment.

Dave here are 4 pieces of burl cap that I am prepping for casting. Just checking to see if you had am interest in them for our trade? The one on the left is ash burl that has some good eye figure but checked during drying and needs casting as a result. The middle 2 are amboyna that is stabilized and dyed blue. Those are both loaded with eyes! The one on the right is hard maple burl. Both the ash and maple will be cast into 2" squares by 6 long the amboyna will be cast into 1.5" squares by 6 long. My batch for today is already in the pressure pot. If you had any color requests for any of these let me know by tomorrow eve.

Hey Greg, nothing is really standing out to me. I'm just interested in the 2 medium hickory burl pieces, ebony and I guess the mappa. Thanks.

Hey Greg,
Been trying to work this trade for over a month, and nothing is really screaming at me for trade that I've seen, as well, haven't heard from ya in almost a week, so I'm gonna bow out of this trade. Maybe we can work something out down the line. I'll definitely be getting more Chittum in soon and will keep ya in mind. Sorry. Dave

I understand I have been pretty busy. Was out of town for a few days and last night I had my monthly turning club meeting. I have everything I showed you in a box with your name on it.
