**ENDED** Trade with sprung

Should be in the shop later and able to post taunting pictures then, lol.

BTW - that Pheasant Wood is also some great stuff too and has some real nice grain to it. I've had a few pen blanks of it in the past so I know these pieces will yield some nice finished items.

Post pics, he who must no be named went to Dallas and won't see. Just don't say his name 3 times in a row... :noevil:

Holy smokes that's gorgeous! I took a little 80 grit to the piece you sent to clean it up and get a little peek and knew it's going to be awesome. But, wow!

That paddle is exceptionally well done - in wood selection, design, and quality of work. Outstanding!

Don, are these the piece you didn't want K.e.v.i.n. seeing? :sofa: A little lacquer thinner to show these beauties off better.

Still trying to figure out how to get the wrinkles out of them! :sarcastic:

@Don Ratcliff

Boss, let me know what you think of these pieces. Hope I didn't go overboard picking out some pieces for you, lol. If you like them, I'll get them on the slow boat to Hawaii before I head out of town this weekend.

From left to right:
Cherry Burl - has some natural edge and some spalt/punk in the sapwood, so it would benefit from some stabilization or soaking it with thin CA while turning. 1 1/2" square, maybe a little larger than that. This is my last cut piece of Cherry Burl I have on hand. But, fear not for my supply of Cherry Burl, I have a whole 18" Cherry Burl in the garage that I need to process yet.
Spalted, Wormy Apple, about 1 1/4" square - Don't worry, there's nothing alive in it; it's been through a bug kill cycle in my kiln.
Thuya Burl
Desert Ironwood - two pieces
Yellow Cedar Burl
Black Locust Burl
Old Growth Redwood Burl
Spalted Flamed Boxelder Burl - Stabilized
Russian Olive Burl - Stabilized
Spalted Flamed Boxelder Burl - Stabilized

At the top:
Spalted Flamed Boxelder Burl - Stabilized - two pieces
Old Growth Redwood Burl

I'll probably slip a couple more somethings in there before I'd seal up the package. And, everything will be labeled.

That movie was sacrilege. It should be purged from the face of the earth. Refer to the original Broadway show or the newer movie with Wolverine in it if you must.

Great! I'll get them in the mail in the next couple days. And, if I remember, I'll send you a tracking number.

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd want to see the shipping bill on that one... Now that I've got some bandsaw blades, I'm hoping to process the burl I picked up from you after we get back from vacation. I set it on some stickers on the garage floor when I unloaded the vehicle the next day and it hasn't moved since. Well, that's a lie. It moved about 3 inches once when I tripped over it in the dark. Katy wants me to wait to cut it up until after I've healed up from surgery next month. But I really don't want to wait until September or October to cut into it!

I can't refer to the original Broadway show unless it's on film, and while I will look for the new movie with a monster in it, there's no way the version with Liam in it can be bad by comparison. I love it and think all others suck by comparison.
