Here is one exceptional and vintage seasoned piece of rosewood from Madagascar (dalbergia spp.). This is about 40 years old, very dense, dark chocolate-chocolate heartwood with really fine striations and growth ring spacing with excellent tap tone response. It does exhibit some spiderwebbing and landscape grain. Dimensions are approximately 12”- x 1-10/16” x 1-9/16”. There are some fine season checking at the one face (“d”)- will put some anchor seal before it ships. Air dried & well seasoned at 8 percent moisture content. Physical weight approximately 19.5 ounce.

$ (Closed) shipped in the 50 US States.

Not interested in buying. Just curious why you would put an Anchor Seal on side “d” if the blank is at 8% moisture? Seems that could potentially get a waxy substance down in the cracks. Regardless, I hope this gets picked up by a musical instrument maker.

It is preventative measure to help stabilize it because it can possibly past more humid environment and those fine slits are invitation for change of temps. - you don’t want those seasoned checks to progress more openly and continuously. Rather have the thin anchor seal embedded in surface core to act as a moisture barrier as that would not be the final skin anyway as this will need to be surfaced a hair more- that is better than taking a chance for the piece to end up as firewood.

An example of a finished guitar bridge……
