@Sprung Matt sorry it took so long to post something . I know you were wanting a piece of Walnut for a bowl and that's all I remember lol, aside from that it was cost of shipping only. So here are three choices w no commitment . The left and middle are both Claro still moist w natural edge and have checking the other I think is black walnut but can't say for sure and it may have been from a crotch section ( looks to have some bark inclusion on the one side and curl) . The one on left is 6" thick at tallest point 9 3/4" x 11 1/2".
The middle burl cap is 4" at thickest point x 10" x 16" ( can shorten to fit LFRB or ship Fedex) . Piece on right is
3 3/4 x 7" x 12" .

Tom, when you sent me a PM and offered to send me a piece for the cost of shipping, I figured you'd end up sending a nice piece that would make a nice bowl, never imagined anything as nice as any of those pieces! :scare3: :shok:

With pieces like those three, you didn't make the choice easy, but if you're willing to part with it, that piece of burl is just downright funkalicious (as Red put it) and it's got me extra curious as to how it'll look with more of it showing in bowl form. The color in it is just wicked and the way the cut face looks leaves me wanting to see more of what beauty it's hiding... :saw:

I think if you trimmed equal amounts from each end to fit it in a LFRB it would work well - and would leave the thickest part still in about the center of the piece so I can go from there on cutting a blank out. (My lathe only has a 10" swing, so I'll definitely be trying to maximize that as much as possible with a piece like this.)

Thank you, Tom! :thanx2::thanx2::thanx2::thanx2::thanx2:

I do still have your PayPal address from when I got those Buckeye Burl pen blanks from you earlier this year, so I'll get some money sent to you for shipping tomorrow and will also send you my address then.

:thanx2::drinks:
