Ok every one I don't know what I started here but I know I have the Big cat to blame. I am in the middle of re arranging my shop so if you want something please don't expect it tomorrow- I am buried or the piece is. Thick piece is 49"x4.5" x2.75" curl goes all the way thru. Ash has a little spalt-cannot get to this pile yet. I have 2500 '-+ of walnut from this group of trees. 95% of it is rough. As I plane it there are many more prizes to be found. Once I get a few honey do's done I will get to the bottom of mess and start making a new one planing some more walnut. 49" piece is SOLD.

I wish I had the money the space and the orders to verify buying all of it... This is one I will kick myself in the butt for not snatching...

No problem finding ups store-right next to my old business. As far as what- bribe me with something. I actually have no clue....... I am sorta a domestic wood sort of guy- by need- all that domestic wood I have it is crazy to buy anything else-especialy here- hardwood at the store is very expensive- our forests are pine cedar, hemlock, red fir but no hardwoods. You have seen what I make- things like the burl accent my work. And hell either the wife or the kids get it all- I do it for the joy I find in the wood. I am very lucky to have fallen into a source for my favorite- walnut.................:yipee:

I have cut nothing yet. Done deal on the 49" for $50. I will get other boards out and plane some of the white. this weekend. If I am not on the road tomorrow I will get it in the mail. UPS. Otherwise it will be monday celebrate wife daughter and oldest grandson birthday sat. were did the time go he is 10.

Man these threads get moving fast!

Hard to sort through it all!

I would love to get a figured piece of walnut that is about 3" thick and at least 18-26" long for pepper mills. Width isn't as big of a concern.

Love that Ambonya Burl too

i might have some cash or wood to trade. I just traded most of my unique stuff to Kevin, but I might have some others.

Hey Roy, thanks my friend- I hope you like this wood as much as I do. I also hope it helps to making your bird that much better. I will search my pile for that special piece for head and body. Let me know what you think when it gets there.:yipee:

Roy I will see what I have. My package(38 lbs) should be there friday and usually they are one day early. I have a piece 10' by 21"+- by 2"+ that came from the same tree that you are getting wood from. Now this sucker is a big chunk of wood- rough and still has the added touch of turkey crap. I cannot plane it whole -15" delta- but I will dig it out tomorrow and plane a small part so you can see it. This is a piece I know has figure the other piles I just have to look thru. Cleaned some of shop today and have enough room to plane so you will see white tommorrow. I will start new thread for a new group of wood. THANKS
