Don, your box with the crotch walnut blank is in Honolulu and will be delivered to your place on Thursday. Surprised it got there this quickly.
@FranklinWorkshops and I worked out a trade for a bowl blank and pen blanks. Larry sent me 2 blanks he wanted a pen from.
The first one is a cocobolo pen. Very nice grain and color to this blank. It polished up nicely.
The second one is my favorite. I had to hide it from the wife. It is made from a piece of crotch Koa. I wish I knew how a picture could capture the chatoyance in this pen!

@keepanionme and I have agreed to another barter. I am sending him the remaining 12 blanks of crotch Koa for the rollerball pen shown here.
Everything is shipped and tracking shows they'll be there on Friday.

These pens arrived today and are much prettier in hand. Jerry did a super job on these and I hope to trade again with him. This wood is amazing.Larry, here are the 3 pens we discussed for a trade
#1 is Chechen Burl , #2 is Redwood Burl , #3 is Mesquite

I got the 12 blanks, and 3 nice short blanks, in the mail today. These blanks are amazing. You know it’s a good sign when you see the chatoyance on the blanks before you do anything to it.

Let me know when you return and, hopefully, the block plane is there waiting on you.
I will be home tomorrow, but it will be well after the post office is closed. If all goes as planned, I will mail out your pens and pick up the package on Wednesday. Will keep you updated!

The pens are amazing. I'll post photos of them asap. Don did a great job and I'll trade with him anytime, no matter what you guys say about him.
